The name Nonika directly means “self-motivated little girl“ and this name pays tribute to the best description of my team members. How we developed a passion for creating things for others that made them feel beautiful, gave them confidence and brought a smile to their face. Our fondness is not merely to dresses’ design but also to their patterns. This was the genesis of Nonika design.

Babies and children have always been a part of my life. I’m originally from Minnesota with a background in the Air Force, travelling internationally all over the world opened my eyes to welcoming the diversity of different cultures. I’ve been married for 33 years to my wonderful husband, Rex with three children and blessed with three precious grandchildren, collaborating with Nonika and moving to Oklahoma has made me found a place I can call HOME.

I was raised in a culture where women were raised to be and to stay to be submissive. The idealization of female empowerment would not have emerged the way it has today, had it not been for the melting pot of collective brave women, who at one point in their young lives stood , to be fearless and kept on with the fight of standing tall and strong through adversity.
I am proud to be part of a family that embraces this culture as well. The timeless innocence of youth is reflective in every product and in every stitch. Being a mom of two boys, I am fulfilled by being able to contribute to a culture and new generation that promotes and radiates all natural beauty, and encourages empowering girls to be ANYTHING they want to be.
